This application provides interactive help when
the !Help application is active.

What this software does
Displays a graph of molecular speed
distributions, with up to five graphs
superimposed, showing either the effect of
different mass or of different temperature upon
the distribution.
It is also possible to display rotational level
populations for diatomic molecules at any chosen
temperature.

Running the application
As a fully RISC-OS compliant application it can
be started from within the desktop by double
clicking on the !Energy icon in a directory viewer
to install its icon on the icon bar.

The Iconbar Menu
Clicking with MENU on the iconbar icon offers the
following options:
Info
The standard information box, with version
number. This is the number that should be quoted
in any communication regarding the application.
Translation
This leads to a submenu allowing you to display
molecular speed distributions for either a single
mass and up to five temperatures, or up to five
masses at a fixed temperature. Making your choice
opens a dialogue window for entry of the
appropriate parameters.
Rotation...
Selecting this brings up a dialogue box
that allows the rotational energy level
population for a diatomic molecule to be plotted
at any chosen temperature. You need to enter
parameters for the molecule, such as mass of the
atoms and bond length.
Preferences...
Opens a small dialogue box to allow you to set
the form in which the data is transferred to
MultiPlot
Explain...
Opens this help window
Quit
Terminates the Energy application, closes all its
open windows, and removes the icon from the
iconbar.

Clicking SELECT on the iconbar icon will open
whichever of the translation or rotation parameter
entry dialogue boxes was last open (or the
translation dialogue box by default if no other
boxes have been opened)
